Central Electric Power Cooperative Makes Donation To Central Missouri Foster Care And Adoption Association

Central Electric Power Cooperative's employees have been busy once again making contributions to the community.  

On December 20th Chris Turner, CEO/General Manager, and staff presented the Central Missouri Foster Care and Adoption Association with a check in the amount of $1,700.  The money was raised through a raffle held at Central's recent employee Christmas party.  Employees also donated clothing, diaper and other essential items needed by foster care and adoption families. 

Raising the Bar: Central's Employees raise monies for Special Learning Center

The employees of Central Electric Power Cooperative raised the bar on their fundraising efforts for the Special Learning Center.  Special Learning center provides comprehensive, early intervention services for children with developmental delays and disabilities. For over 15 years the employees of Central have raised funds to benefit Special Learning Center.  Employee donations over the years have totaled nearly $100,000.  The fundraising efforts of Central’s in employees in 2016 alone raised $19,000 to benefit Special Learning Center.

Central celebrates Employee Appreciation Day

Central Electric Power Cooperative celebrated Employee Appreciation Day with an all-employee breakfast hosted at Central's headquarters on Thursday, March 3, 2016.  The event was a wonderful opportunity to recognize the contributions of all employees to the successful operation of Central Electric Power Cooperative.  The event was well-received by all.

Central Electric Power Cooperative Celebrates National Lineman Appreciation Day

 

America’s electric cooperatives have designated the second Monday of April as National Lineman Appreciation Day.  On April 13, 2015 Central Electric Power Cooperative joined electric cooperatives across the nation in recognizing National Lineman Appreciation Day.  

The full text of the resolution, which the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA) Board adopted unanimously, follows:

Central Electric Power Cooperative Board of Directors names Christopher M. “Chris” Turner as its next CEO

The Central Electric Power Cooperative (CEPC) Board of Directors has named Christopher M. “Chris” Turner as its next CEO.  He begins his new duties in July, 2015 upon the retirement of Donald Shaw, CEPC’s long serving CEO.  Mr. Shaw has faithfully served CEPC for 42 dedicated years, the last 23 as its CEO.  At the request of the Board of Directors, Mr. Mark Newbold of the CEPC senior management team has graciously agreed to serve as Interim CEO until Mr. Turner begins his duties in July. 

Central Electric Power Cooperative Makes Donation To Special Learning Center

As it has for more than 15 years, Central Electric Power Cooperative and its employees made a donation to the Special Learning Center in Jefferson City, Missouri.

This year was the largest single donation made to date totaling $14,008.  

The 2014 donation included a $5,000 matching grant provided by CoBank, a national cooperative bank serving various industries across rural America. 

Don Shaw, chief executive officer, said the cooperative presented the Special Learning Center with a $14,008 check.  

“The Special Learning Center helps many families in our area ,” Shaw said. “We feel privileged to be able to help them continue their good work.”

 

Central Electric Power Cooperative Makes Donation To Central Missouri Foster Care And Adoption Association

Central Electric Power Cooperative made a donation of $1,926 to the Central Missouri Foster Care & Adoption Association in late December 2014.  The Central Missouri Foster Care & Adoption Association is a not-for-profit agency that educates, supports and advocates for foster and adoptive children, youth and families in central Missouri.

Don Shaw, chief executive officer and general manager of the cooperative, said this is the fourth year the company has made such a donation and the money was raised through a raffle at an employee Christmas party.

“They (CMFCAA) are a wonderful asset in our community,” Shaw said. “They provide a great service for children in need.”
