For nearly 20 years, Central Electric Power Cooperative has worked with several of its member cooperatives at 4-H summer camps in the central Missouri area promoting the safe use of electricity.
While reaching out to the nearly 700 campers each summer, Central's educators and representatives from its participating member cooperatives meet at Camp Cloverpoint at the Lake of the Ozarks to teach the campers about electricity basics and how to safely use electricity. The campers have the opportunity to interact with cooperative personnel from their local cooperative and to learn more about rural electric cooperatives. Many of the students recognize the cooperative educators from their visits to their classrooms during the school year where the students learn about electric safety and energy efficiency. Central and its member cooperatives also work with campers at the 4H camps held in Monroe County and Heits Point.
Once again Central and its member cooperatives demonstrate their Commitment to Community.
